Viola Coleman LUBBOCK-Ms. Viola Coleman, 93, of Lubbock, passed away on June 13, 2014. Viola was born on March 10, 1921, in Elder, Texas, to the parentage of John and Mary Kellum. Viola accepted Christ at an early age and was a strong pillar of the family. Her absence will be missed by those who had the opportunity to know her. She was preceded in death by: her husband, B. H. Coleman; both parents; seven brothers; five sisters; and one daughter. She leaves to cherish her memories: four sons, Cecil King (Leona), James Coleman (Janice), R.B. Coleman and Ronnie Coleman; two daughters, Pearline Selmon and Jeanette Williams (Kimothy); 30 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Interment will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
