Ronald Murray Nettles WOLFFORTH-Ronald Ronnie Murray Nettles, 75, of Lubbock, was born July 17, 1939, in Lubbock to Murray and Waltha (Hancock) Nettles. He worked as a Gin Manager for 43 years. He married Bertha Smith on June 6, 1958, in Lakeview, TX. Ronnie enjoyed family time at Brownwood Lake, boating and skiing. He also enjoyed landscaping. Ronnie went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014. His parents; brother: Harold Nettles; and two sisters: Mary Nell Askew and Virginia Pendergrass, preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Bertha Nettles; two children: Debra Diann May and husband Ricky, Michael Douglas Nettles and wife Karen; four grandchildren: Blake Randal May, Christyn Nicole Cornelius, Trevor Michael Bennett, and Ryan Blake Bennett; a great-grandson: Jaylen Ervin; and sister: Christeen Pendergrass. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, in the same chapel with Dr. Steve McMeans of Indiana Ave. Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth, In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1717 Norfolk 4th Floor, 79416 or J.T. & Margaret Talkington Supportive Care Unit % UMC 602 Indiana Ave. 79415.
