Octavio Celis LUBBOCK-Octavio Celis Wedo , 52, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at his residence. Services for Mr. Celis will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at San Ramon Catholic Church in Woodrow with Father Rene Perez. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Calvillo Funeral Chapel. Octavio was born on July 29, 1962, in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, to Blas and Margarita Celis. After a long courtship, Octavio married Yolanda Navejer in Feb. of 2014. He worked as a welder for most of his life and he enjoyed playing the slot machines and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Celis of Lubbock; his mother, Margarita Juarez of Lubbock; one son, Albert Trevino of Lubbock; three daughters, Janette Mosqueda, Kimberly Hernandez, and Jennifer Chasco all of Lubbock; one brother, Humberto Celis of Lubbock; five sisters, Imelda Celis, Carolina Gonzales, Graciela Lerma, Rosie Perez, and Sylvia Juarez all of Lubbock; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Blas Celis; great-grandson, Nehemiah DeLeon; and step-father, Oscar Juarez.
