Martha Gray LUBBOCK-Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Martha Gray, 84, of Lubbock from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening, Aug. 28, 2014, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Celebration services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Lake Ridge Chapel followed by burial in the Terrace Cemetery, Post, TX. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on Aug. 26, 2014. To share your thoughts and memories of Martha, visit www.memorialdesigners.net. Martha was born on Aug. 29, 1929, to the late Dexter and Margaret (Hamilton) Lack in Tolbert, TX, and graduated from Vernon High School. She married Cecil Gray on Oct. 12, 1952, in Hobbs, NM. She retired from Furr's Supermarket, having worked many years in the meat department. Martha was an active member of the Cooper United Methodist Church, T.O.P.S. International, and the Joe Arrington Cancer Support Group. Martha enjoyed crocheting and always had a crochet needle in her hand, working on a new project. In her later years, Martha was an avid Texas Tech sports fan. Along with her parents and her husband, Cecil, Martha was preceded in death by her seven siblings, Cortez Lack, R.M. Lack, Mamie Mowrey, Margarete Sampler, Christine Scarber, J.B. Lack and Pete Lack. Survivors include two sons, Benny Gray and wife Judy of Lubbock, and Glen Wayne Nethery and wife Charla of Brownwood; four grandchildren, Gerald Nethery, Nicholas Gray and wife Amy, Ty Gray and wife Leigha, Julie Williams and husband Lance; and four great-grandchildren, Bradley, Sarah, Layne and Karissa. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cooper United Methodist Church, 16612 Loop 493, Lubbock, TX 79423 or Central United Methodist Church, 1501 2nd Street, Brownwood, Texas 76801.
