James Richard (J.R.) Brown, Jr. LUBBOCK- Celebration of life services for James (J.R.) Brown, Jr, 91, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Quaker Avenue Baptist Church with Brother Monty Hilliard officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. James passed from this life Sunday, April 22, 2012 in Lubbock. J.R Brown, Jr. was born September 21, 1920 in Dermott, Texas to the late James Richard and Lillie Mae (Vincent) Brown. He had been married to the love of his life, Eva for 70 years. He served in the United States Army during WWII. J.R. was employed at Armor Star Meat Company for 38 years before his retirement. He was a faithful member of Quaker Avenue Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Eva; daughter, Mina Dawson; grandchildren, James Young, La'Cee Romero; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Collin and Ry'Lee Jo, all of Lubbock; brother, Le'Roy Brown of Snyder; and sister, Gertrude Kidwell of Midland.
