Dorothy C. Neumann RISING STAR- Dorothy C. Neumann, age 81, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on June 3, 1931 in Gorman, Texas to Fletcher Delton and Ressie May (Anderson) Chambers. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Higginbotham Chapel in Rising Star with Rev. John Vieths officiating; burial will be at the Rising Star Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, July 27th from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Higginbotham Chapel in Rising Star. Dorothy graduated from Rising Star high school in 1948 then attended Draughn's Business College in Fort Worth as well as serving in the United States Naval Reserves. During the Korean War she served in the United States Air Force from 1951 - 1954 while stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge, she worked in various fields as a bookkeeper and accountant. She then married Reverend Robert Neumann in Fort Worth on May 18th, 1958 and was a member of the Wisconsin Synod Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert Neumann of Lubbock; daughter, Ruth Ann Giovannetti of Lubbock; son, Jonathan Robert Neumann of Mesa, Ark.; sister, Donnie Rodgers brother, O.D. Woodie Chambers; and four grandchildren, Francesca, Jeremy, Riley and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior foundation.
