Erma Jean Dockins LUBBOCK- Erma Jean Dockins, Mama J, 83, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on October 3, 2012. She was born on September 12, 1929 to the late Lewis Dockins and Myite Dockins in Red River County. She attended public school in Red River County. Mama J was well known for her love for Christ, her children, family members and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, C.D. Dockins; one son, Ronny Lee Pace, Sr.; one sister; and four brothers. She leaves to celebrate her memory her sons, Tommie Ray Briley (Rumel), Lowry Briley (Deborah), James Briley DeKalb, Larry Briley, Dwight Briley, Terry Humphrey and Chris Scott; her daughters, Pat Matthews, Janice Briley, Linda Briley, Francis Briley, Anniel Reba Holder (Glen), Tamara Quiely (late Ronnie Lee Pace Sr.), Ruby Nell Bond, Barbara Pace, Paulette Pace, Lee Ann Smith and Stacy Smith; sisters, Theolia Giddens, Jerline Giddens, Ester Gray, Elzelan Wright, Helen Dockins, Glenda Faye Green and Iona Bail; brothers, Henry Dockins, Hugh Sammy Dockins and Ronnie Dockins; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Celebration of life services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lyon's Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. A wake service will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lyon's Chapel Baptist Church.
