Marzella Combs Guyer LUBBOCK- Marzella Combs Guyer, 94, passed from this life on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Family and friends will gather for a time of fellowship from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to Mrs. Guyer's service of celebration, which will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd Street. Marzella was born on October 2, 1918 to the late James Oscar and Bessie Nell Mann Combs in Paradise, Texas. She graduated from Plainview High School and attended Draughon's Business College in Lubbock. Marzella married Eugene Evan Guyer on June 19, 1938 in Plainview, Texas and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1976. She retired following many years of service from Latham's Department Store. Mrs. Guyer was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock, where she was an active member of the Faith Sunday School Class and the Prime Time Choir. Survivors include her two daughters, Carole Lanham and husband Sam, Sherry Odorizzi and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Lori Lesikar and husband Larry, Lisa Lanham, Holly Odorizzi, Jeff Odorizzi and wife Jill; and great-grandchildren, Amanda and Evan Lesikar; and brother, Doug Combs. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Woody Combs and Harold Combs. Memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer research or the First Baptist Church.
