Thomas Cone LUBBOCK- Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Tom Cone, 67, of Rockwall this evening, November 13, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Lake Ridge Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers Crematory. Our beloved Tom went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2012. He was born on August 13, 1945 to the late Hassell and Thelma (Hager) Cone in Wichita Falls. He moved to Lubbock as a child and as a teenager Tom was an original cowboy at Rim Rock City where he also took care of the animals. He graduated from Coronado High School and began his studies in architectural design at Texas Tech University until entering the US Air Force. After his discharge from his military service, Tom moved to Dallas and went to Flight Instructor's School where he acquired his Pilot's license. He worked for Best Products and then he became an independent consultant for several companies. He married Yvonne Brown on August 23, 1995 in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Tom retired from Pilgrim's Pride as a Management Training Specialist. He enjoyed flying, flight instructing, fishing and oil painting. Tom is survived by his wife, Yvonne of Rockwall; a daughter, Tracy Cone of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren, Magen Hardee, Gregory Arbaugh and Bobby Arbaugh all of Hanover, Va.; a sister, Jean Ann and husband E.L. of Lubbock; and three nephews, Chuck Green and Gary Green and wife Laurie all of Austin, and Tim Green and wife Jamie of Lubbock.
