Marian Jane Malone LUBBOCK-Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Marian Jane Malone, 81, of Lubbock at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers with burial following in Resthaven Memorial Park. Our beloved Lassy went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012. She was born April 11, 1931, in O'Donnell to the late John and Florence (Fentress) Walker. She graduated from O'Donnell High School and married Odell Malone on April 6, 1951, and he died on March 7, 2009. She was a dorm director at the Lubbock State School. While working at the State School, she graduated from Wayland Baptist University. After her retirement, Lassy and Odell spent many hours travelling and polka dancing. She was a member of P.O.L.K. of A., the Cajun Dancers, along with Wall and Texas Dance Clubs. Lassy also enjoyed vegetable gardening and reading. Along with her parents and husband, Lassy was preceded in death by a granddaughter and seven siblings. Survivors include her three sons, James Rell Malone and wife LeeAnn, John Dell Malone and wife Sharon, and Brian Jason Malone and wife Leslie; four stepchildren, Bill Malone and wife Minnie, Jean Harry and husband Edd, Maureen Brennam and husband Mike, and Bobby Malone; 22 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren; a brother, John Walker; and two sisters, Margaret Adams and Hazel Brown.
