Melba Whitney Moore LUBBOCK- Our beloved Melba Whitney Moore went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2012, at her home in Lubbock, Texas, following a lengthy bout with cancer. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will oversee services in Paris, Texas under the direction of Melba's granddaughter, Laura Landes, of Lubbock. Funeral services will be held on December 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Paris, Texas with graveside to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The greatest love of Melba's life was God, family and friends. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of her days. Her positive attitude, It is, what it is., throughout her illness was the one thing that kept her family going. She never wanted her family to be sad, as she had accepted the path God laid before her. Melba is survived by her son, Philip Moore and wife, Linda; daughter, Patti Shannon and husband Dennis; two granddaughters, Laura Landes and husband Todd, Erin Johnson and husband Jerry; grandsons, Patrick Trotter, Brian Shannon, Jeff Shannon; and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Robbie Morrow and husband L.V.; brother, Charles Whitney; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews, who kept her spirits high and a very special angel whom our Heavenly Father placed in her life, Deborah Stanley. Memorials are suggested to the Westmont Christian Church. To send your words of encouragement to the family and to view a life tribute of Melba Whitney Moore visit www.memorialdesigners.net.
