Guadalupe Esquivel LUBBOCK- Funeral services for Guadalupe Esquivel, 90, of Lubbock will be today at 10 a.m. at Mercy Retreat Center Chapel, with Monsignor Joe James officiating. Burial will be at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel. Mr. Esquivel passed away on Tuesday January 1, 2013. He was born on September 23, 1922 in Menchaca, Texas to the late Bonifacio and Francisca Esquivel. He married Maria Ruiz on October 29, 1948. He was an active member of San Jose Catholic Church. He was a retired Farmer. He loved being around his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Jesus Esquivel; a daughter, Juanita Clemmons; and two grandsons. Survivors include his wife, Maria of Lubbock; four daughters, Lupe Mote of Woodrow, Connie and W.B. Deshan of Amarillo, Mary and Don Mewborn of Lubbock, and Frances and David Mesa of Odessa; nine sons, Juan and Elsa of San Antonio, Bonifacio and Blanca of Lubbock, Jose and Gina of Lubbock, Modesto of Littlefield, Jesus and Benita of Lubbock, David and Patricia of Lubbock, Roberto and Ofelia of Lubbock, Guadalupe Jr. of Florida, and Reynaldo and Martha of Lubbock; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
