Alma Nelson DIMMITT-Alma Nelson, 95, of Dimmitt passed away, Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ Church at 2 p.m. with Mr. James Jones officiating and burial to follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family visitation will be this evening at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Alma was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Lexington, Okla., to James Douglas and Elzora Bates Brock. She grew up and attended school in a community near McLean, Texas. She graduated from McLean High School. She married Woodrow Nelson on Dec. 20, 1936. She was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ of Dimmitt. She enjoyed her church and her family. She is survived by her two sons, Donny Nelson and wife Wanda of Dimmitt, and Ronny Nelson and wife Ruth of Arlington; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Leola Durant of Pearland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Nelson; four sisters; three brothers; one grandson, Roy Nelson; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials can be made to
