Betty Faye Stephenson WOLFFORTH-Betty Faye Stephenson, 69, of Wolfforth died Jan. 3, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Head Duarte Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Cotton officiating, assisted by Roger Garrett. Viewing will be today, Jan. 8, from 9 to 5 p.m., and Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. They will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Betty Brookes was born in Pecos, Texas, on Oct. 13, 1943, to Ned Vaughan and Georgia Faye Brookes. She graduated from San Marcos High School. She married Maurice Dee Stephenson in Las Vegas, Nev., on Aug. 15, 1980. They moved to Wolfforth in 1984. Betty enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her hobbies were reading and collecting cookbooks. She also enjoyed country western music. She was a Christian and will be missed by a host of relatives and friends. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Maurice Dee Stephenson; daughter, Crystal Sheree Ali Khan (husband, Abid); and five grandchildren, Ebhram, Khadijah, Raybia, Noah and Ahisa Ali Khan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned Vaughan and Georgia Faye Brookes. Pallbearers will be Larry Burks, Jim Dickens, Larry Johnson, Don Stephenson Jr., Dustin Stephenson and Tom Stone. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of Lubbock, Susan B. Kohne Center, or . Interment will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland, Texas.
