Foy Marie Hogg Millican SAN MARCOS- Foy Marie Hogg Millican died February 15, 2013 at home in San Marcos, Texas. Foy was born June 6, 1929 to Frank and Sallie Hogg in Lamesa, Texas. She graduated from Union High School in Dawson County. Foy was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, Frank Hogg, Jr. and Farrell Hogg. She is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Marty Millican of San Marcos and Sarah Millican Moore of Austin; son, Marc Millican and wife, Karen of Austin; nine grandchildren, Shannon Romero, Mathew Romero and wife, Jennifer, Bryce Romero, Casey Moore and wife, Marissa, Justin Moore, Taylor Moore, Sgt. Blake Millican, USMC, Jake Baumli and Gage Baumli; as well as five (soon to be six) great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Cape of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Mary Wilson of Midland, Texas and by many nephews, and friends. At 5'2 tall, she was short in stature and tall in spirit and a first team player on the Union girls' basketball team, which contended for the state championship. Foy displayed the same positive and determined attitude she had throughout life. Foy met her husband, Bob Millican, at Texas Tech in 1947. They were married nine months later and raised three wonderful children together. They lived in towns from coast to coast the first nine years of their married life as Bob pursued his career in the petro-chemical construction business, then settled in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for 19 years. They moved to San Marcos in 1977 where Foy kept very busy as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with social work and her own entertainment such as bridge, bowling, sewing, gardening, etc. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ since an early age. She was a member of the Heritage Association, the Spring Lake Garden Club and Beta Sigma Phi. She was named Woman of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi in 1985. She suffered a long, painful illness, beginning in August of 1984 in which she showed a very positive, determined attitude for 28 years. She was, indeed, one of a kind. Our many thanks go to those who have helped Foy through her medical struggle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University Church of Christ, 115 Country Estates Drive, San Marcos, Texas 78666; CTMC Hospice 1315 I-H 35 North, San Marcos, Texas 78666; or to Vasculitis Foundation, PO Box 28660, Kansas City, Mo. 64188-8660.
