Jane Ann Floyd Jackson LUBBOCK- Jane Ann Janey was a resident of Lubbock since 1929. She was born in Brownwood, Texas on April 7, 1921 to Myrtle and Jim Floyd. Beginning a lifetime of volunteerism at the age of 19, she ended her volunteer career at St. Mary of the Plains Hospital following 14 years of service there. A graduate of Lubbock High School, she attended National Park College at Forest Glen, Maryland, Texas Tech University, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. She married her childhood sweetheart, Leete Jackson, on Oct. 9, 1943. Janey was a member of the Alpha Theta chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, Junior League of Lubbock, and Lubbock Country Club. She was a Scholarship Donor of the Red Raider Club, a founding member of the Texas Tech chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, and a member of First Christian Church; Jane Ann taught girls' Physical Education for LISD. She also owned and operated Myrtle Floyd's Gifts and Interiors for 16 years; a business she inherited from her mother. She loved reading, bridge, cooking and dancing. Jane Ann and husband Leete danced in the Junior League Follies for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leete Jackson, and by their two children, son, Dr. Leete Jackson III DDS, MD, and daughter, Jim Jackson Hooks. Jane Ann is survived by five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by a multitude of dear friends and Carillon caregivers. Mrs. Jackson donated her remains to the Texas Tech Medical School of which her son was in the first graduating class. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Neil Chapel at Carillon, with Chaplain Ted Dotts officiating.
