Dorothy Mae Williams LUBBOCK- Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Williams, 71, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at Christian Life Assembly of God with Pastor John Murdoch officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Terrace Cemetery in Post. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Dorothy went to her eternal home on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013 in Lubbock. Dorothy Mae Seals was born on May 1, 1942 in Hamlin, Texas to Charles James Charlie and Mae Oleain (Green) Seals. Dorothy met Odell Williams in Post and they were married on June 30, 1960 in Post. Dorothy was a strong Christian and a member of Christian Life Assembly of God. She earned her LVN license and was a nurse for several years in Lubbock at Methodist Hospital (now Covenant) and Lubbock Hospitality House. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Teresa Lynn Williams; husband, Odell Williams in May 1998; daughter, Judy Lynn Williams in March 2001; grandson, Michael Sean Scoggin in November 2011; and her brother, Charles Ray Seals in February 2012. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Jay Williams (Lisa) of Abilene, Kevin Williams (Mondie) of Lubbock; daughter, because Dorothy said so!, Sharon Scoggin; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild due in December; brother, Leslie Seals (Vera) of Post; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
