Leslie Carl Traweek LUBBOCK-Leslie Carl Traweek, 87, of Lubbock passed away Sept.12, 2013. Les was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Burburnett, Texas, to Charles Bee and Mary Isbell Traweek. Les graduated from Commerce High School in Commerce, Texas. Les served as a Sgt. In the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII, where he earned the Bronze Star for Bravery. Les was certified through the UT Extension School in auto mechanics. He worked for 19 years as service manager for 555 Company. From 1969 to 1979 he was employed by Second Baptist Church. From 1979 to 1991 he was employed by American State Bank. Les was a longtime member and deacon at Second Baptist Church. Les was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and three brothers. Les leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 66 years, Marie; a daughter, Colleen Pruitt-Maloney and her husband David of Lubbock; granddaughter, Marinda Stryker and husband Rodney Teaff; great-grandsons, Lane and Ty Stryker, and Ryder Teaff; sister-in-law, Sue Holt and her husband Ronnie; brother-in-law, Charles Stewart and his wife Illene. He had many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Second Baptist Church in Lubbock. Les's body was donated to TTU/HSC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church Choir fund or to .
