Johnnie Wayne Holbrooks AMARILLO- Johnnie Wayne Holbrooks, 71, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 in Prairie View Baptist Chapel with Glenn McCathern officiating. Burial follow at 4 p.m. at Crosbyton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Holbrooks was born on Oct. 9, 1941 in Parker County, Texas to Golda and Johnnie Holbrooks. He had been a lake patrolman and county constable in White River Municipal District for many years. He married Bobbie Hickman on April 27, 1962 in Lubbock. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Wars, a longtime member of Caprock Peace Officers Association, and an active member of the N.R.A. and the Texas State Rifle Association. He was also a member of Prairie View Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Holbrooks of Amarillo; a daughter, Karamae Simons and husband Mike of Amarillo; a son, Johnnie Lewis and wife Lorie of Alpine, Texas; three sisters, Freda Henderson and husband Ronald of Calahan, Colo., Jeanette Walling of Brashear, Texas, and Betty Sue Ramey and husband Russ of Hartford City, Ind.; three grandchildren, Gina Arnaud and husband Ricky, Brandy Simons, and Michael Simons; and three great-grandchildren, Ethen, Jordin and Ricky.
