Wayland Morris SLATON-Services for Wayland Morris, 78, of Slaton will be 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, in Post's Little White Church. Burial will follow in Terrace Cemetery, under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Wayland was born in Littlefield on April 11, 1935. He passed from this life Oct. 15, 2013. He attended school in Littlefield before enlisting in the US Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the ginner for Graham Chapel Gin for 22 years before retiring in 1998. On Dec. 1, 1988, Wayland married Jeanette Hutto Ticer in Lovington, N.M. A son, Gary Wayne Morris, preceded him in death. Wayland's survivors include his wife, Jeanette; three sons, Michael Morris, Jim Ticer of Meadow and Josh Ticer; two daughters, Pam Abbott and Jayta Cravy; brother, Weldon Husley; sisters, Vera Seals, Valverine Niel, and Elmina Banks; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
