Sue Fincher JAYTON-Sue Fincher, 86, of Jayton, Texas, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, in her home. Sue was born on Aug. 14, 1927, to Less and Ruby Matthews in Peacock, Texas. Sue married Gerald Fincher on Aug. 16, 1947, in Breckenridge, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents; brother, Sam Matthews; sister, Mary Lou Champion; and one grandchild, Sher Stanaland. She made Kent County her home most of her life, where she worked at the Kent County State Bank and later ran a rural mail route. She loved to cook for her family and a host of friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church most of her life. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Nancy Bryant and Wes of Grapevine, Jill Everett and Keith of Haskell; one son, Joe Fincher and Paula of Spur; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, L.H. Matthews of Sonoma, Calif. Graveside services will be Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in Jayton Cemetery at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations go to Scottish Rite Hospital 2222, Welborn Street, Dallas, TX 75219, or your favorite charity. Services are under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home of Spur, Texas.

I miss my friend Sue. I treasure the memories of when Sue and Gerald lived across the street from us. I miss visiting with Sue, having coffee with her, and eating some of the awesome doughnuts that she made from scratch. I miss seeing her at church on Sundays. She was my friend.

Sue was a long time friend of ours and we shared many memories. She was a very special lady and she will be sorely missed. We extend our love and sympathy to the family.
