She was an active member of First United Methodist Church Friendship Sunday school class up until her illness last May. She had also been a member of the Lubbock Women's Club, Pierian Sorosis Study Club, and Friendship Bridge Club. She was a beautiful and caring lady who left a legacy of faith and love to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years. Survivors include her two sons, Dr. J. Clark Huff and his wife Lois of Parker, Colo., Cary Huff and his wife Phyllis of Lubbock, Texas; and daughter, Beth Huff Matulich and her husband Joe of New Braunfels, Texas. Grandchildren include Dr. Joshua Huff and wife Dr. Christy Huff of Fort Worth, Texas, Micah Huff and his wife Casey of St Charles, Mo., Alissa Huff of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Andrew Huff and his wife Amanda of Lubbock, Texas, Ryan Huff and his wife Elizabeth of Houston, Texas, Daniel Huff of Lubbock, Texas, Jeb Matulich and his wife Carrie of Frisco, Texas, Ben Matulich of Dallas, Texas, and Janey Matulich Polk and her husband Kyle of Galveston, Texas. She leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Kathryn Huff, Morgan, Sadie, and Emmett Huff, Parker Huff, and Max and Meredith Matulich. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas J. Huff and wife Gladys of Lafayette, La. A celebration of Alice's life will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Bowman Chapel of First United Methodist Church in Lubbock at 11 a.m. A private interment will precede the memorial service. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home in Lubbock. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Carolyn and Scott Herron at the Porch Swing for the extraordinary care and love that they gave our mother for the last few months, and also to Peggy Schwertner, RN., Elizabeth Abraham, and all the wonderful staff at Hospice of Lubbock. Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church Everliving Church Trust Fund (1411 Broadway, Lubbock, TX. 79401) or Hospice of Lubbock (3702- 21St St Lubbock TX. 79410).
