Barbara Ann (Flynn) Bellair PLANO- Barbara Ann (Flynn) Bellair quietly passed in her home after succumbing to a lengthy illness. Barbara, a long-time educator, enriched the lives of students in the public schools of Chicago and Minneapolis, which is where she was an elementary-school principal when the United States Department of Education recognized her for Excellence in Education in 1988. Barbara enriched herself through her relationships with others, and her many passions, which included reading, sailing, gourmet cooking, and enjoying the flavors of fine food. Barbara also enriched the lives of John, her spouse of 61 years; her sons, Gary and David; Gary's wife, Lorrie; grandson, Gu ; and a multitude of friends. A memorial service celebrating the life of Barbara will be held at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1914 Ridgeview Dr., Allen, TX 75013, on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please honor Barbara's memory by making a contribution to the Society of the Little Flower, 1313 N. Frontage Rd., Darien, IL 60561.
