Ira Jephcott Funeral services for Ira Jephcott, 80, of Levelland will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 26, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Levelland with Dr. Sammy Elliott and Rev. Paton Parrish officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. Ira died on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in Levelland. He was born on July 14, 1933, on the family farm in Ropesville. He grew up in Ropesville and graduated from Ropesville High School. He went on to attend Texas Tech. Ira married Patsy Patterson on Dec. 24, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas. He farmed in Ropesville and then went into the office supply business and worked for several Lubbock office supply firms, the last being Frank McGlaun Office Supplies. In 1967, he bought Script Office Supply in Levelland, which he operated until 2003. In 1968, he and Patsy moved to Levelland, and he became active in the community as a member of the Levelland Lions Club and a patron of the Hockley County Stock Show. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Levelland. In 2000, he was nominated to be a member of the Republican Business Council and was also named Republican of the Year. He was a loving grandpa to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Patsy of Levelland; his son, Gary Jephcott and his wife Pam of Littlefield; his daughters, Donna Gholson and her husband Randy of Georgetown; Sharon Lott and her husband Chuck of Poolsville, Md., and Alice Rhodes and her husband Ryan of Littlefield; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
