Curtis Coxon Obituary

Curtis Dean Coxon LUBBOCK-Curtis Dean Coxon of Lubbock passed away on March 13, 2014, at the age of 87. He was born Oct. 26, 1926, to John and Esther Coxon in Little River, Kansas. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Curtis married Shirley Mills in Abernathy in 1958. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2007. He was self-employed as an insurance agent in Lubbock for many years. Curtis is survived by a daughter, Jenna Wolcott and her husband Randy of Lubbock; grandsons, Joey Longley and wife Cheryl, and Brett Longley and wife Katlyn; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Marie Longley, Campbell Joseph Longley, and Asher Blake Longley. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Whitney John Coxon and Brent Coxon. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Curt was a great friend to my dad (C. Doyle Drake) and his insurance agent for years. I remember Curt as being one of the funniest people I'd ever met. I'll miss Curt, and wish I would have visited with him more often in his later years.
