Vallie Driver Obituary

Vallie Lucille Driver COLORADO CITY- Funeral services for Vallie Lucille Driver, 95, of Colorado City will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Lucille passed away April 20, 2015 in Colorado City. She was born January 4, 1920 in Strawn, Texas to George Armour Booth and Lizzie Blanche (Laramore) Booth. She grew up around Coleman, Junction, Baird, Comanche, and Lamesa. Lucille married Prentis Driver March 22, 1939 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The couple spent most of their married lives in Welch, Seminole, and Lake Colorado City. When one is blessed to be the child of the most remarkable woman it is hard to put in words the tremendous sadness and gratitude one feels upon having to say goodbye. Our mother, Vallie Lucille Driver is reunited with her true love, Prentis Driver, (even through her long journey of Alzheimer's she never stopped talking about our incredible dad). She was a true Christian lady and member of the Oak Street Baptist Church in Colorado City, Texas. Lucille quietly and comfortably left our physical presence. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, farmer, rancher, artist, and a very generous lady! She loved baking, sewing, making fudge, and crocheting. Her wit, strength, devotion, and loving compassion will live on in our hearts forever. Mom's adage for a great life was, Love and serve the Lord, love yourself, work hard, love what you do, and be kind to others. Simple plan Extraordinary lady! She was known by her nieces and nephews as Aunt Cille. Her whistling, Amazing Grace around the house will deeply be missed. Lucille will be laid to rest next to, The love of her life, Prentis Driver in Lamesa Memorial Park. Mother, grandmother, until we all meet again in heaven, we will hold your memory and your love in our hearts. Lucille left four daughters to celebrate her life, Kay Davis and husband, Lloyd of Welch, Jo Ann Tapley and husband, Charles of Midland, Beverly Ridenour of Lake Colorado City, and Vickee Faught and husband, Jerry of Brownfield; brother, Granville Lee Booth of Abernathy; seven grandchildren, Mary Davis and wife Sheila, Kirk Davis and wife, Denise, Quinn Tapley and wife, Kelli, Jeffrey Tapley, Shane Faught and wife, Judy, Robbie Willis and husband, Brian, and Shannon Tapley; great-grandchildren, Morgan Davis, Bridgette York and husband, John, Hayden Davis, Daniell Holdworth and husband, Brandon, Taylor Davis, Breck Faught, Conner Faught, Trinity Tapley, Liam Tapley, Piper Tapley, and Wesley Willis; and great-great grandson, Grayson Davis. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Prentis Driver; daughter, Novis Lucille Driver; granddaughter, Kristy D'Ann Davis; sisters, Mattie Lowery; Faye Gibson; brothers, Robert Booth, Enoch Booth, and Calvin Booth Sr.; niece, Joy Avant; nephews, Johhny Don Booth, Bennie Lee Pennington; son-in-law, Jerry Ridenour; and great-niece, Pam Belt. Thank you, Lord, for giving us a wonderful mother and father who taught us so much. The family suggests donations to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
