Imogene Matthews Obituary

Imogene Matthews LUBBOCK-Imogene Matthews, 84, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Jan. 17, 2017. She was born to Lee Wallace Deaver and Cora Farless Deaver on March 10, 1932, in Tolar, Texas. Imogene loved her Broadview Baptist Church family and involved herself by joining the greeting committee. She enjoyed retail therapy shopping and still had many clothing items with tags intact. Imogene worked for Rainbow Bakery for 40 years. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ricky Matthews; son, Steven Matthews; and a brother, Elton Deaver. Imogene is survived by her son, Eddie Matthews and daughter-in-law, Debbie of Lubbock; daughter, Jeannie Gibson of Odessa; sister, Myrtle Lindsey of Burleson; grandchildren, Chris Matthews, Kelly Poplin, and Michael Gibson of Lubbock; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, Friday, from 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held at Broadview Baptist Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be offered at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com.

Aunt Imogene I love you so much, in my younger years you were always there for me when I couldnt turn to anyone else. You are now at peace and in the arms of Jesus. Rejoice with all of your loved ones that had gone before.
