Hernandez, Yolanda Vasquez - Lufkin  
Mass of the Christian Burial for Yolanda Vasquez Hernandez, 53, of Lufkin, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Gavin Vaverek, celebrant. Mrs. Vasquez was born February 25, 1962 in Mexico, the daughter of the late Maria del Socorro Hernandez and Jose Juan Vazquez. She passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015. Mrs. Vasquez was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was currently a highly respected employee with Cracker Barrel Restaurant, where she worked in all areas of food preparation; cooking, baking, and salad preparation. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Sandra Paola Casco Vasquez, Jose Enrique Casco Vasquez and Viridiana Casco Vasquez; grandchildren, Sofia Fernanda Guillen Casco and Samantha Jaqueline Casco Ruiz, all of Tecate, Baja California; husband, Jose Enrique Casco, of Mexico; siblings, Luis Vazquez, Martha Arriaga, Rosa M. Vazquez, Octavio M. Vazquez, Ma. de Los Angeles Tinoco; Mario Vazquez; and numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.

Hurd, Lois Hales - Lufkin  
Services for Lois Hales Hurd, 95, of Lufkin, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Bro. Rick Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Hurd was born April 12, 1919 in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Bessie (Parten) and Albert Clinton Hales. She passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Hurd graduated from high school in Houston, attended cosmetology college, and become a cosmetology instructor. She studied art under several artists in Houston and was the co-owner of a photography studio. She worked in the photo lab for NASA, retouching pictures of the Moon and other NASA photos until her retirement in 1980. After retirement, she continued restoring old pictures and continued painting. She was a local professional artist and had a passion for painting, and loved to travel. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a lifetime member of the VFW, past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, and was also instrumental in erecting the Veterans' Memorial Wall in Diboll. Mrs. Hurd was a member of the Angelina Art Guild and the American Business Association. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ronnie Coleman of Conroe; grandchildren, Leslie Coe (Josh) and Lori Rodewald (Alex); great-grandson, A.J. Rodewald; sisters, Margueriette Kessinger of Diboll and Louise McCall (David) of Orangeburg, South Carolina; nieces, Vicki Karnes, Teresa Johnson, Kathy Stephens, Joyce Crager; special friend, Sherry Votaw; nephews, Roy Hales, George Emmet Kessinger, Donnie Kessinger, Albert Glenn Kessinger, Ronald McCall, Robert David McCall, Richard McCall, and David Karnes; and numerous cousins, other family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Hurd; sister, Alice Karnes; brothers, Hersey Hales and Freddie Lee Owens; nephew, James Ellis Kessinger. Pallbearers will be Josh Coe, Ronnie Coleman, Will Lewis, David Karnes, Derek Billingsley, Roy Hales, Johnny Dale Johnson. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Saturday at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Jones, Ora Nell DeWoody  
Funeral services for Ora Nell DeWoody Jones, 82, of Huntington will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jackson Colwell and Dr. Jerry Jones officiating. Graveside committal will follow in the Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery with Reverend Andy James officiating. Mrs. Jones was born August 25, 1932 in Huntington, Texas to James A. DeWoody and Georgia (Roberts) DeWoody, and died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Huntington. Mrs. Jones had resided in Huntington most of her life. She was a homemaker, an avid gardener and was especially fond of roses. She also enjoyed her farm, horses and cows. Ora Nell loved her family and was a wonderful caregiver to her husband and son during their illnesses. She was a member of Huntington First Baptist Church where she taught the Lydia Sunday School Class for many years. She was dedicated to the Lord and helped to organize the first Children's Church at Huntington First Baptist. She was loved by many and affectionately called "Mammy." Survivors include brother, Jimmie DeWoody of Odessa; sisters, Pauline Capps of Huntington, Marie Horton and husband, Ted of Lufkin; daughters, Barbara Stubblefield of Huntington, Beverly Schlein and husband Stephen of Houston; granddaughters, Gale Oliver and husband Jason, Tiffany Webb and husband Kenneth, Josey Armstrong and husband Chance, Alex Schlein and Lacey Jones; grandsons, Trey Jones and Patrick Schlein; great-grandchildren, Jayci Oliver, Cole Oliver, Caleb Webb, Logan Armstrong and Bryce Armstrong; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold L. Jones, Sr.; son, Harold L. Jones, Jr.; son-in-law, Pat Stubblefield; sister, Mollie Wilson; brothers, Hugh DeWoody, Andrew (Sonny) DeWoody, Jr. and Bobby DeWoody. Pallbearers will be Dana DeWoody, Joey Horton, Rev. Andy James, Randy Holloway, Jonathan Jones and Jason Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert DeWoody, Tommy Capps, Randy DeWoody, David Horton, Kelly Jones and Rudy Jones. Memorial contributions may be made to Huntington First Baptist Church Library Fund, PO Drawer E, Huntington, Texas 75949. Kendrick, Royce  
Funeral services for Royce Kendrick, 76, of Spring, will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County. Mr. Kendrick was born December 21, 1938 in Trinity County, Texas to Woodie and Hazel (Blakeway) Kendrick, and died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in The Woodlands. Mr. Kendrick had resided in Spring for 43 years. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and attended Sam Houston State University and Stephen F. Austin State University. Mr. Kendrick was the Credit Manager for CSC Credit & Computer Corporation. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and camping. Mr. Kendrick was a member of the Church of Christ in Conroe. Survivors include his wife, Helen Kendrick of Spring; son, Randy Kendrick of Spring; grandchildren, Tyler Kendrick, Grant Homrighaus and Kailey Homrighaus, all of Spring; sister, Milva Lawrence of Nacogdoches; half-brother, Joe Kendrick and wife Suzanne of Tyler; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Gaylyn Homrighaus. Pallbearers will be Jeff Scott, Joe Scott, Kyle Homrighaus, Grant Homrighaus, Tyler Kendrick and Jay Jackson. Graveside services for Drucilla Cameron Massey, 92, of Zavalla will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tom Havard Cemetery with Reverend Linwood Dykes officiating. Mrs. Massey was born March 11, 1923 in the Camp Ruby Community of Polk County, Texas to Tom and Sleetie (Shives) Cameron, and died Friday, April 10, 2015 in a Tyler hospice facility. Mrs. Massey was a lifetime resident of Zavalla. She was a cook at Zavalla ISD for more than 30 years. Mrs. Massey was a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Rose Massey, David and Wonda Massey, all of Zavalla, W.M. and Marcia Massey of Colmesneil, and Carrol and Wanda Massey of Zavalla; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Robert Lockhart of Lindale; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Frances and Edwin Hopson of Goodrich and Lavelle Griggs of Garland; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mack Massey; and sister, Devilla Hollingsworth. Pallbearers will be Mrs. MasseyĆ­s grandsons. Moore, Patricia Ann Bradley - Lufkin  
Memorial services for Patricia Ann Bradley Moore, 83, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Moore was born October 24, 1931 in Waverly, New York, the daughter of the late Althea Mae (Hutchinson) and Fenton Maurice Bradley. She passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Moore was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a homemaker. She graduated high school in Nichols, New York. She married Charles Moore on July 30, 1949 and they became missionaries in Mexico and Central America from 1959 to 1972. They continued mission work until moving to Broaddus in 2000. She was of the Methodist Faith. Mrs. Moore loved her family and was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed watching people, nature, being outside, and listening to classical music. She loved to cook and loved for people to enjoy eating. Her grandchildren were her joy and now she is in Heaven enjoying her reward. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Althea and Marc Sheldon of Lufkin and Ruth and the late Charles Jones of Broaddus; daughter, Martha Moore of Broaddus; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Rebecca Moore of Cope, South Carolina; son, Benjamin Moore of Smithville, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Loren Moore; son, Samuel David Moore; and sisters, Nancy Wayman and Carol Roberts.
