Carolyn Redditt Henderson

Memorial services for Carolyn Redditt Henderson, 82, of Lufkin will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Art Callaham officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Henderson was born November 16, 1930 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Hazel Lee (Spears) and John Sayers Redditt. She died Friday, June 21, 2013 at PineCrest Retirement Community. Mrs. Henderson had lived in Lufkin most of her life, but had also resided for 30 years in Kerrville. She graduated from the University of Texas with a teaching degree. She was an artist and helped establish the Museum of East Texas in Lufkin. Mrs. Henderson was involved with the Hill Country Arts Foundation, the Sew & Sews, and the Garden Club, all in Ingram, Texas. She was a member of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Chip and Debra Henderson of San Antonio, Dave Henderson of Lufkin, Mark and Amy Henderson of Lufkin, Kelly and Robert Parrott of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Christy and Everett Johnson of Huntington; grandchildren, Keith, Karen, Rebecca, Matthew, Misty, Katie, Caroline, Ryan, Mark, Megan, Lauren, Stephen, Kevin, Christopher, John Michael, Luke, Laura, John Dee, Anna Claire, and Carolyn Brooke; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kylea, Rhett, Ashley, Payton, and Paisley; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, John Henderson, Jr.; and her sister, Elaine Redditt Maroney. Memorial contributions may be made to the Musuem of East Texas, 503 N.
