Johnny Garrett

Graveside services for Johnny Garrett, 61, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Holly Springs Cemetery near Appleby with Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Mr. Garrett was born October 4, 1953 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Viola (Scroggins) and Vernon Garrett, and passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Garrett had resided in Lufkin for 38 years. He worked at Texas Foundries for 18 years and was most recently employed with Lufkin Industries. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. Mr. Garrett was a member of Chestnut Drive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Pat Garrett of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Byron Morgan of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Reilly and Danielle Garrett of College Station; grandchildren, Anne Marie and Janie Kae Morgan, Ryder and Sawyer Garrett; mother, Viola Reed of Garrison; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny Garrett of El Dorado, Larry and Charlotte Garrett and Jim and Debi Garrett, all of Garrison; sister, Sheila Reneau of Channelview; parents-in-law, Beamon and Sheila Scogin of Huntington and Bettie and Preston Westbrook of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Leslie and Patrick Richards of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Tim Scogin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Garrett; and twin brother, Donny Garrett. Pallbearers will be Reilly Garrett, Brad Reid, Byron Morgan, Danny Garrett, Larry Garrett and Jim Garrett.
