Services for Charles 'Pete' Minton, 75, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Conner Cemetery in Ratcliff. Mr. Minton was born June 20, 1937 in Ratcliff (Houston County), Texas, the son of the late Laura (Reeves) and Joseph Smith Minton. He passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 in a local hospice facility. Mr. Minton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was employed with Lufkin Industries as a maintenance foreman for 37 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed wood working. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Martha Minton of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Ann and Dean Peveto of Lufkin and Jeana and Hank Langston of Diboll; grandchildren, Maranda Hightower, Tony Grimes, Angela McGrath, and Kaleb Langston; great-grandchildren, Austin Loving, Mason Loving, Hunter Hightower, Payton Grimes, Tyler McGrath, Jackson McGrath, and Riley Langston; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Peewee Lane; sister, Jean Keng; and a number of other family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Minton was preceded in death by his grandson, Charles Michael Peveto; and brother, Bobby Minton. Pallbearers will be Tony Grimes, James Williams, Randy Grimes, Joe McGrath, Kevin Lane and Kaleb Langston. Honorary pallbearer will be Doug Allen.
