Memorial Service for Mr. LaVerne Hinson, 80, of Lufkin will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in the Central Church of Christ with Marshall Coffey officiating. Mr. Hinson was born January 10, 1933 in Burgaw, NC to the late Nell (Batchlelor) and Robert L. Hinson, Sr. and died February 7, 2013 in a local healthcare facility. Mr. Hinson was a retired Prison Chaplain. He loved to travel and was a member of the Central Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Norma Hinson of Lufkin; son, Shelton Hinson of Greenville, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Selinda and Glen Border of Phoenix, AZ; step-daughters and husbands, Sara and Gary Briley of Palestine, Dr. Marilyn and Eddie Stinson of Arlington; step-son, Jack Holder of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Lillie and Sam Hinson and Caliegh Border.
