Ola Brewer

Ola (Cravens) Brewer, 93, of Wells, was born April 14, 1916 in Wells, Texas, the daughter of the late Emma (Bailey) and Joseph "Joe" Cravens. She passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2010 in a Jacksonville hospital. Mrs. Brewer was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She and her husband Jack were self-employed truckers, house movers and farmers. She was a member of Falvey United Methodist Church, where she was also on the Board of Directors and Trustees. Survivors include her daughters, Gearld Deen Kent of Escondido, California and Betty Jean Bruce of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Carl Lambert and Alexandria Brewer of Wells; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous other family members. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claudia Jackson "Jack" Brewer; daughter, Anita Brewer; brothers, Fred Cravens and John Cravens; and sister, Mazie Doss. Pallbearers will be Stuart Thornton, Chase Brewer, Dustin Brewer, Carl Von Brewer, Kirk Von Brewer and Billy Brewer. Alternate pallbearers will be Eugene Morrison and Dale Brantley. Memorials in Mrs. Brewer's memory may be made to Falvey United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 351, Wells, Texas 75976; or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Services for Mrs. Brewer will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Falvey United Methodist Church in Wells, with Reverend Joe Beran and Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
