Services for Oneita Rose Modisette Bingel, 85, of Lufkin, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Kim Bartel officiating. Mrs. Bingel was born January 13, 1927 in Allentown, Texas, the daughter of Mary Edna (Crenshaw) and William McKinley Modisette. She departed this world in August 2012 to join her Heavenly Father. Mrs. Bingel received her Master's Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, and taught elementary school in both Lufkin and Beeville, Texas. She was of the Christian faith and attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and cooking. Survivors include her husband, James R. 'Jim' Bingel; daughter and son-in-law, Ginger Shotwell Ochoa and Michael Ochoa; grandson, Barrett Ochoa; sister-in-law, Mildred Tucker Modisette; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bingel was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Ted Modisette. Pallbearers will be Don Dickerson, Michael Ochoa, Barrett Ochoa, and Trevor Hughes. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home. Services are in the care of Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
