Funeral services for Palmer Louis Arnold, 81, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vic Bass and Reverend Roy Carroway, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Arnold was born June 22, 1931 in Curtis, Arkansas to the late William and Maudie (Freeman) Arnold, and died Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Plano, Texas. Mr. Arnold resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Lufkin Industries following more than 20 years of service. Mr. Arnold was a member of Carpenter’s Way Baptist Church. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Cindi Arnold, Dale and Sharon Arnold, Jerry and Donna Arnold, all of Dallas, and David and Susan Arnold of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Crissy and Sheldon Krc of Dallas; grandchildren and their spouses, Kendra and Tyson Erwin, Jarriet and Jenna Arnold, Stephen and Erin Arnold, Kelly and Grant May, Kimberly Arnold, Sarah Arnold, Allison Arnold and Andrew Arnold; five great-grandchildren; sister, Corene Pope of El Dorado, Arkansas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Scottie Arnold. Pallbearers will be David Arnold, Jerry Arnold, Dale Arnold, Kenneth Arnold, Sheldon Krc, James Banks and Andrew Arnold. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hudson ISD Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, 6735 Ted Trout Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be added at Carroway Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors.
