Services for Earnest E. Landrum, 96, of Lufkin, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jimmy Hedges officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Hill/Simms cemetery. Mr. Landrum was born January 1, 1918, the son of the late Mary (Wells) and Kenny Landrum. He passed away June 9, 2014 in a local hospital. He was retired from the Parks and Recreation of Houston. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a hard worker for his family. When he was able, he enjoyed gardening. He never met a stranger. Mr. Landrum was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Linda Landrum; daughter, Janey Ramsey and Denny Paris; grandchildren, Tracie Bowden and Darrell Wonzer, both of Lufkin, James Lakey of Splendora, Terri Walshak of New Caney, and David Landrum of Winter Park, Florida; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Imogene McGahee Landrum; and daughter, Mary Lakey. Pallbearers will be Darrell Wonzer, James Lakey, Josh Bowden, Scott Petit, Kevin Cutler and David Landrum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
