Leslie Renee Thiebeault passed away on March 29, 2010 at her residence in Dallas after a brief illness. Born August 31, 1958 in Harvey, Illinois, Renee was 51 years old at the time of her death. Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Charles J. Thiebeault III and Helen Ellyce (Cranfill) Thiebeault of Lufkin. She is survived by two brothers, Charles J. Thiebeault IV of Austin and Jeff C. Thiebeault of Dallas; one sister, Dana Lee (Thiebeault) Lettrell of Dallas; two nieces, Lillie Ellyce (Thiebeault) Justice of Dallas; one aunt, Mary (Cranfill) Curtis of Prescott, Arizona; and at least ten cousins including Matt (Cranfill) Curtis of Prescott, Arizona, Niven Cranfill of Richardson, Texas, David Cranfill of Antioch, Illinois, Beverly Else of Elk Grove, California, John Else of Aptos, California, Mrs. Douglas (Debbie) Stevens of Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Thomas (Sue) Klein of Estero, Florida, Mrs. Betty Jean Stewart of Lovington, New Mexico, Mrs. Albert C. (Nicole) Harris of Killeen, Texas, and Doris Harris, of Irving, Texas. Renee was not consistently employed during her lifetime because of a mental health disability. However, she was active in the Lufkin area, serving as a member of the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) affiliate in Lufkin. Renee was a talented ballet dancer, working part-time briefly as a dance instructor for the City of Lufkin Parks and Recreation Department. She was also a poet, with several of her poems published in the Lufkin Daily News. Renee is buried at Garland Memorial Cemetery in Garland, Texas.
