Funeral services for Ray Turner, 53, of Zavalla will be held Monday, August 26, 2013 at 11:00am in the Center Hill Methodist Church on FM1733 in Kennard with Rev. Marlow Shubert officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla cemetery. Mr. Turner was born October 12, 1959 in Dallas and died August 22, 2013 in Crockett from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was employed as a logger and skidder operator and loved drag racings, working on race cars, and deer hunting. Mr. Turner is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Turner of Zavalla; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Ray Turner and Nicole Turner; grandsons, Carter and Trenton Turner, all of Jacksonville, FL; father, Travis Turner of Dallas; mother, Yvonne (Bangs) Turner of Mesquite; sister, Sandra Norris of Dallas; brother, Dewayne Turner of Mesquite; uncle and aunt, Markus and Marvalene Turner of Kennard; aunt, JoAnn Sullivan of Greenville; cousin, Jason Turner and wife of Kennard; father-in-law, Wiley Mott, Sr.; brother-in-law, Wiley Mott, Jr.; sister-in-law, Barbara Bordelon, all of Zavalla; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Sullender, cousin, Keith Sullivan, and Granny and Grandpa Turner. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the church from 5-7 pm today.
