Dear Davis Family,
When I heard about your son's death, I wanted to send my sincere sympathy to you. My brother Garth was killed in a car accident while serving a Mission in Great Britain in 1974. So many people sent us letters at the time of his death. It was a great comfort. Recently I was asked to write Garth's story for a book called 'The Transfer'. So Garth has been on my mind a lot. I hope that God blesses you with great peace and comfort, like he did for our family. We love all the missionaries and feel a kinship to their families.

Dear Donna and Larry,
How devestated we were for you, to hear of the loss of your beautiful young missionary son. We know, too well, the pain of the loss of a child and know that there are no words adequate to really comfort. We do love you and pray for you.

Dear Donna, Larry, and family, I couldn't really believe it. I am so sorry for your loss. I imagine that Jace was a wonderful son. I don't remember him very well, but I do remember you, Donna. I wish I could have come for the service. I have read about Jace; it seems he was an effective, caring missionary (and leader). Please be comforted and look forward to being with him again, forever.
Thinking of you, your extended families and relatives too...Linda Brady from the old 41st ward

Dear family of Davis, i am Traian From Romania-Bucharest. First of all please forgive me for my bad english.
i meat elder Davis at our branch Mihai Bravu in Bucharest. and all i wanna say i am gratefull that i was a good friend with your son, we allways use to sit together during the sacrament sunday church, we love some much to be arrownd togethe, i was like a magnet for him, he likes to sit around other people but the most he wanna stay near me. he was appreciating me so much because he wanna learn how to play piano much better, so after sunday school or before the english class we use to play piano, we had fun, and we tried to sing the tenor part from the hymns, and he really enjoy that, because he didn't know how to do it, so i hellp him to learn during the sacrament meeting by singing the musical notes from the tenor parts, and he was singing after me in mean time, we had so so so much fun together, because people use to sing the words and me and Davis use to sing the musical notes from tenor part, not the words in romanian. to be honest he was speaking good romanian! so we laugh so sooo much because was so fun people were hearing us the way how we were sang. and all most each 2 sunday we used to go at sora Gorzo she is the special member from the church who likes to feed the elders in her house, because elders don't know how to cook, so all most each sonday sora gorzo invite us to her house, so there all we were crasy, we do alots of nice jocks, we laugh so much together, he was so so happy in his mission and he tried to work hard with his companion to teach the Gospel. on the 13th of February we will gonna have the 20th celebration of the Mormon church in Romania, and we will have a special day for the 2 missionaries that we lost. i am the conductor of the choir and we will have this celebration that we will dadicate for your son too. we will have musical prayers for them.
so, Me and Davis we plan to become good friends after his mission ends , but now....... not any more until i will meat him again. he was a good and innocent spirit, he was good person, i can tell you,so i learn from him to keep be a child in our soul, because he was a clean spirit child. the only think that i feel through my spirit elder Davis died with honor in his mission because God need him right now, we don't know why, but only our heavenly father knows why, because HE had a holy reason. i will miss him, but i know his spirit still alive, may God bless the spirit of Davis with all His Love and Glory. all my love to you and my honest condolence to you. Traian

To the Davis family:
We have had you in our prayers daily this week since hearing of your son's and Elder Burrows' "unexpected transfer" from one mission field to the next. Our son has been serving in the Romania Bucharest mission since August 2009. Please know that many tears have been shed and many prayers offered for you by missionary families everywhere. Our son Brett spoke very highly of Jace, and we know he was an outstanding young man and servant of the Lord. God bless. Yours has been the ultimate sacrifice, and we are deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear Davis Family: Having a missionary out ourselves, our hearts just broke when we heard about your son. What a blessing his life has been to his family and friends, and to all of those he has taught and served with in Romania. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, Rick and Ruth Phillips (Las Vegas, NV)

Dear Davis Family and Friends,
Elder Davis was here in our group in Craiova, Romania when I first arrived last spring, both of us "greenies" only he had a much greater knowledge of the language. He was and will continue to be an amazing missionary. He was always upbeat and enthusiastic about the hard work of trying to find people who would listen to the gospel message, even when recounting getting harrassed. He was an awesome young man and you must be an incredible family to be called on to make such a sacrifice. We will forever be grateful and changed by his being here.

Dear Davis Family,
As a brother in the gospel who served in the Russia St. Petersburg Mission 15 years ago, I know the importance of bringing the Good News of the Restored Gospel to the people of Eastern Europe. I, too, served as a district leader while being a First Counselor in the Avtovo Branch Presidency and it taxed me to the extreme. It too came to an end, fortunately. I consider each and every missionary who serves or served in Eastern Europe a kindred spirit and your son is a choice kindred spirit that is in a different type of mission right now. Thank you for allowing him to serve my Romanian brothers and sisters.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. I remember Jace from when I was his den leader. He was a special young man and it is an honor to know him. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy's for your families loss. Jeff and Jodi Faulkner & Family
