Juanita Zabel Obituary

JUANITA ZABEL Juanita Lamb Kemple Zabel, 95, passed away in Las Vegas, March 27, 2009, with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. Nita was born in Toquerville, Utah, October 25, 1913, to William (Bill) and Evelyn Stewart Lamb. She resided in the Las Vegas area for the past 80 years. She prized her lifelong membership to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, loved music and served in musical and athletic callings when she was younger, and most recently as a dedicated visiting teacher and supervisor. Nita was married to her devoted husband, Clifford Kemple, for 55 years. They were married in Las Vegas, Sept. 27, 1930 and had one daughter, Marilyn. They were later sealed as a family for eternity. Her eternal sweetheart preceded her in death. For many years Nita loved working as an office nurse for Dr. Gerald Jones and Dr. Richard Nielsen with many of the patients becoming lifelong friends. Nita enjoyed crocheting afghans for all the new babies, and dearly loved giving, caring, and serving family and friends. We will miss those special things. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; second husband, Gus Zabel; sister, Elva; brothers, Tony and Stewart. She is survived by daughter, Marilyn Bauer; granddaughter, Pam (Paul) Wilkins; great-grandsons, Mark (Tonya), David, Scott and Erik; and great-great-grandchildren, Hanna and Hunter. Nita is also survived by sisters, Theon Clark and Sherlene Conger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be from 11 a.m.-noon, Saturday, April 4, with service following, both at the LDS Chapel at 5750 Cimmaron Road. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m., at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road (Lone Mountain and Tenaya). Donations can be made to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or charity of your choice.

Dear Marilyn,
Aunt Nita was a great person. Nedra and I have fond memories of her kindness. Most of my memories are from the Goodsprings days, and the last time I visited with her was at a Goodsprings old timers reunion. She will be missed very much. Our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Carol and I will miss our Aunt Nita. My earliest memories of her are as a small child living in Goodsprings. She loved the children and was always kind and loving to us. We send our sincere sympathy and love to Marilyn and all the family.

Dear Marilyn:
I am sadden to see your mother's obit this day. I have very fond memories of her, and her dedication to assist us who came to Dr. Jones office. I remember telling my father of her gentleness, and kindness. He replied that this was due to her being a member of the church. Up till then I was not aware of this, but I am grateful for her kindness she showed me. I am grateful for the Gospel in our lives. I can only imagine that she is helping Dr. Jones, again, and he is telling her to give the patient hie infamous instruction of a 2+2. May Heavenly Father's spirit be with you during this period of adjustment, and know that she has been reunited with family members who have preceeded her. We extend our deepest condolences to you, and your family.

Respectfully, and sincerely,

Alexander "Alex" Campos
