Pamela Orr Obituary

PAMELA SOWERS ORR Pamela Sowers Orr, 58, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2010. She was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Tiffin, Ohio, and was a 30-year resident of Nevada. Pam was a teacher at Eldorado High School, but taught at numerous other middle and high schools throughout the valley during her 26-year career with Clark County School District. A devoted single mother of two, Pam was able to obtain master's degrees in both special education and counseling. She enjoyed swimming, dining out and seeing past students lead independent, productive lives. Everyone that knew her, surely has a hilarious "Pam" story to tell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Iva Dean Sowers. Pam is survived by her son, Glenn Orr; daughter, Rochelle Orr; and son-in-law, Travis Johnson. Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA. As an avid animal lover, Pam was a frequent donor herself.

Words cannot describe the sadness we feel in our hearts upon learning of Pam's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rochelle, Travis and Glenn during this time of sorrow. Yes, everyone should have a Pam story. We were privileged to have shared her sense of humor and her funny stories that did not go unnoticed. Her love and devotion to Rochelle and Glenn was her #1 priority in life. She was the happiest when she talked about them. We will miss you! Thank you for the memories! R.I.P. I will treasure the 2 1/2 years I worked with Pam at EHS. She was a warm and wonderful teacher and friend. I loved her visits to the office. She loved her jewelry and always told me the stories behind it. She was so proud of her son and daughter and her new son-in-law. May you all find comfort and peace at this time and know that Pam was truely loved by many.
