Ray Ramos Obituary

RAY RAMOS Ray Ramos, loving husband and father of two adopted daughters, graduated into eternity Aug. 11, 2011, at the age of 44. Ray was born in Long Island, N.Y., Oct. 7, 1966. He graduated from Broward Christian School in Plantation, Fla., where he was a multi-sport athlete and nicknamed "Moose" for his imposing size. Ray then attended Liberty University before being called to the mission field in Russia. Ray's passions were defending the powerless, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and evangelizing. Ray was considered a pastor to members of the Eastern European Connection here in Las Vegas, and he and Ruth led 18 kids to Christ this summer at a VBS. Ray is survived by his wife, Ruth; his adopted daughters, Victoria (15) and Ashley (14); and his sister, Marianne Bowen of Raleigh, N.C. There will be a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Calvary Chapel Meadow Mesa, 2575 E. Craig Road in North Las Vegas. To honor his memory and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that Ray's friends donate Star Nursery gift cards to build a prayer garden in the backyard of their house. The cards may be sent in care of Ruth Ramos, 609 Iron Stirrup Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89081.

Your life was cut too short, but you made lifetime impacts on so many people. You are a wonderful man and you will be in my heart forever.

I met Ray many years ago when he worked at Holy Cross Hospital. We became very good friends. After becoming a christian, he went to Russia and found Ruth. I lost tough with him, but i knew he was doing what he loved, to serve God, help the youth and every one who needed his help. I didn't know he had passed until now. Ray, i will miss you, but you are in a better place. My prayers go to your wife and kids. Raque (you used to call me Rocky) i miss you, my friend!!

Sorry that I just recently heard about Ray's passing . I'm truly grateful for the few days he spent working with and helping my son deal with his life skill issues. Ray was a really good, caring, and loving person. We were blessed to have been a part of his life, no matter how limited it was. Please accept my condolences and prayers for you and your family.
