Richard Schubnell Obituary


RICHARD SCHUBNELL Richard Bruce "Dick" Schubnell, 70, of Las Vegas, passed away quietly in his sleep, April 8, 2009. He was born Aug. 24, 1938, in Chicago, to Edith and Rudolph Schubnell. A very loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael; and niece, Theresa Markula. He is survived by his sweetheart and wife, Sue, of 15 years; Mia Marie Schubnell, the mother of his children, Tonya (Cruz) Ibarra and Fritz Schubnell, both of Arizona. He is also survived by his daughter, Catrina Schubnell; extended family, daughters, Laura (Bryce) Wilson of California, Sheryl (Rick) Bean and Tina (Pat) Bash, both of Nevada, Brenda (Bruce) Harris of Oregon, and son, Jeff (Alice) Boscarino, also of Nevada; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Michelle Ibarra, Aaron, Emily and Juliann Wilson, Heather (Josh) Epperson, Richard "Ricky" Bean, Patrick, Kristi and Robert Bash, Brandon, Jakob and Nathen Harris, Sean and Kimi Seta, Tiffany (Jose) Rodriguez, Brittany Boscarino-Kennedy and Daniel Boscarino; his great-grandchildren, Gabriela, Leilani and Bryce Rodriguez, Lexi and Levi Epperson; his sisters, Grace Hilb, Noreen (Horace) Searcie and Sharon (Dwight) Armstrong; sister-in-law, Terri and her son, Kyle Schubnell; nieces, Karen, Vicki and Debra Hilb, Belinda (Glenn) Kachalkin and Kimberly Schubnell; nephews, Peter and Christopher Schubnell, Daniel, David and Christopher (Lisa) Markula; great-nieces and nephews, Klasey and Michael Kachalkin, Isabella and Mollie Markula and Andrew "Andy" Hilb. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, April 20, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
