Robison Sundell Obituary

ROBISON SUNDELL Sept. 28, 1985 - Oct. 23, 2009. Robison "Robi" Stewart Sundell went back to live with his Heavenly Father, after 24 years of fun, work, service and adventure. Robi was a son, brother, uncle and friend who loved his family, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was born in the arid landscape of Las Vegas, raised as a stalwart C.O.D. (child of the desert) and grew into a lively and fun young man. After graduating from high school, Robi served an honorable mission for the LDS Church in Sapporo, Japan. Upon his return, he attended Brigham Young University where he completed two years of study in International Business and Japanese. While at school, Robi lived in squalor with friends whom he treated like family and he loved every minute of it. Together, they spent many days (and nights) getting into innocent trouble, barbecuing, jeeping, riding mechanical bulls and longboarding. Remarkably, his friends say he rarely missed his classes. Robi's favorite hobbies included four-wheeling in his beloved Jeep "The Jewel," longboarding with his buddies, turning a wrench with his dad, sharing his culinary skills with hungry friends, motorbiking with his brother-in-law and testing the maximum velocity of any moving vehicle he had the pleasure of driving-a number that isn't small. He is survived by his father, Kris; mother, Nancy; sisters, Jennifer Davis (Steven), Melissa (William Worden), and Abby; brothers, Bryan (Kristen) and Peter (Heidi); five nieces and two nephews; and large extended family. All who knew him will miss him tremendously. Robi lived every day to the fullest and will be remembered for his insatiable thirst for fun and his big heart. He was mild mannered, handsome, polite and would drop everything to help anyone who asked. Robi's generosity has continued even in death with the donation of his organs and tissues. We will dearly miss Robi, but we feel this world was simply too small for him. While we mourn the death of his Earthly body, we rejoice in his eternal soul and his resurrection. We pray that he watches over us as he serves his Lord and Master. We loved Robi and we love him still--he was beautiful. Viewing will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas. An abbreviated viewing will also occur from 1-1:30 p.m. in the LDS meeting house, 3300 N. Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas, with Robi's memorial service following at 2 p.m.

So sorry to hear of your loss, but he has moved on to the Celestrial Kingdom and it just doesn't get any better than that. I know the family will miss him horribly, but Heavenly Father must have needed him for a much larger problem/issue....

I had a class with him. He honestly made the class so much better. He made everyone happy and able to get through class. He once interviewed in front of the classroom and our very serious teacher could help smile as Robi sat in front with a big grin. When he would walk in with a big smile, I would say to myself, "there goes a really good kid." He has the mantel of Christ. People like to be around him. I know that the Resurrection is real. Jesus Christ overcame death and lives, this very moment Christ lives and is very aware of your family. Thank you for raising such a wonderful person.-Thomas Wright

Kris,Nancy and Family
What a great loss he will be to all who knew him, my mind continues to see him in many different occations from his early years when you were over with him Brian and Peter and we were just getting into 4 wheeling and they were all under 5 and bouncing off the walls then seeing him master 4 wheeling just a few years later to mastering everything he prsured.I still remember all the scout camps, father and sons, home teaching, leaving and returning from his mission and being just a great kid and good example to my family. I will miss him and his big smile. I fill your great loss and my prayers are with you.

I didn't know robbie all that well, met him a few times because he and my little bro ben are friends. I did however get the joy of jeeping with robbie for 2 days in moab ut. this year. He litteraly had me rollin laughing the entire time. I couldn't tell you how many "grandslamwiches" he ate at dennys on that trip or how he was able to fix everything on the "jewel" with a roll of bailing wire and a hi-lift jack but he did! He was willing to throw himself and the jewel at every obstical that everyone else wouldnt go near and was sucsessful almost everytime! I'll never forget that trip and what a fun loving and good hearted guy he was and is. How rare it is to find somene with a love for life like robbie did.

Sincerly,
Brian Yoakum

We never had the opportunity to meet your son, but we have heard of him and the others and their many antics through our son Jordan. Jordan is a member of the Armada who has been influenced for good by your son.
Please know that our family has you in our prayers and thoughts during this difficult time.
Thank you for raising a wonderful son.
May the Lord send an extra portion of His spirit to be with you and your family during this difficult time.

I will always remember Robi as a fun-loving, energetic guy with a twinkle in his eye. I'm glad he is in a better place, but my heart breaks for the Sundell Family. What a blessing and gift you have provided for others in tissue/organ donation. Another self-less act--I have come to see this many times in the Sundell family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. All our love, The Murdock Family- Angel, Jake and Kids

I met Robi at the Las Vegas Bowl in 2007. We ended up going on a date a few days later. I remember asking him on the date while we ate ice cream sundaes: "Robi, what's your favorite ice cream?" He simply answered "Yes." So funny-he cracked me up that night! I actually ended up dating his friend Michael, and we all went on a hike to red rock in March of 2008. He went around with his shirt off and was climbing up and down everything. It was hilarious! It was always entertaining when we were around him. When Michael and I broke up, I deleted a bunch of pictures of Michael and me on facebook. Robi asked me why, and I told him that it was just too hard and weird for me. He also had a few pictures of Michael and me on his facebook as well (actually if you look at his profile, the pictures are still there). He kept the pictures up and told me to not delete my past, but to be proud of it. I'll never forget when he told me that. It was a good lesson because I realize that I shouldn't regret my past, but be glad for the experiences that my past has given me. I ran into Robi here and there over the next year, and he was always nice to me-even though I had hurt his friend. I know that I did not know Robi for very long, but he definitely made a great impression on me and I am grateful for the short time that I did know him. Thank you Robi for the many things that you have taught me. I know that I will see you again.
