I knew Vince since he was a law clerk in the office of the Clark County District Attorney and I was a deputy. Vince was the nicest, kindest person one could ever know. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. I remember when he was sworn in as President of the State Bar and he said between the tears, "This is the proudest moment of my life." I was shocked when I heard of his death. God took one of the very best. Lynn Shoen

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Vince's passing. I was out of town, and only learned of the sad news today. I knew Vince for 30 years, when he and my first husband worked together in the District Attorney's office. We were very close with him, and enjoyed his jokes and laughter at work, and at parties. Mike and Lauren, your dad was the greatest man I knew, and I'm sure you were very proud of him. May God bless all of you in your loss of such a wonderful man.

When I was a young lawyer, Vince was my official and unofficial mentor at Beckley and was always the consummmate professional as well as a good friend who cared about everyone and our community. He was a genuinely funny person and could find humor when needed most. The loss of Vince was such a shock, as I thought he was the healtiest person around who took care of himself. I will so miss him as will all of our many mutual friends.

Very few people in your life always made you feel better after seeing him Vince was one of those people. It never mattered how long it had been since you last saw him he always made you feel that you were a special friend. Vince had that gift which he shared with so many. His bright light will truly be missed by all. May God hold you in his hand until we meet again. His family will be in my prayers for his loss is tragic.

There are few superlative words to use when describing Vince.......they hardly match up to the man he was. We all carry the warmth of his smile with us. I often tell my friends what a great job they have done in raising GREAT children, but this one is for YOU, Phyllis.........thanks for giving us Vince, it isn't hard to see from where the love, kindness and warmth came.

Vince and I were very close in High School. We served side by side on student counsel, went on a few dates, including Jr. prom and always had a laugh together. We reconnected at reunions and had fun reminiscing.My prayers are with Phyllis and family. I will miss him.

Although Vince and I were classmates at Skyline, we did not get to know each other until the 10 yr. reunion in '81. That night a friendship was born that continued through the years. He was such a fun guy--always the gentleman, it was Vince and 6 girls sharing a cab to the last reunion in 2006 and of course he picked up the tab! It was an honor to be his friend and I will truly miss him. My heart goes out to the Consul family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Consul family who lost their loving son, dad and grandfather. And while he treasured his family the most, he was so much to so many of us in our legal community. He always made you feel like you matter, even as a rookie, he treated all of us with respect, he always cared, always asked about the family. We will miss the smile, his kind heart and his knowledge. Even if he completely disagreed with your position, he would tell you that with respect and his big smile. He was a gentle giant, who gave so much. He was a zealous advocate but always professional and courteous to the rest of us. He was always eager to help. His contribution to our legal community is enormous and truly appreciated. He lead by great example as he genuinely cared about the community we live in. He will be missed by so many of us.

My deepest sympathies to the Consul family.I was away when I heard of Vince's passing. I was stunned and deeply saddened. Vince started my legal career in Las Vegas, gave me a chance when no one else would and got me into the NSIAL, where we had some great times - especially taking down the Sands. He was a terrific lawyer, a great friend and a very nice man. I will miss him alot.

Dear, Dear Phyllis, Joe, and all the family, We send our faith and prayers to you daily. What plethora of wonderful memories we all have of Vince. He was such a good teenager! I don't ever remember his being anything but good to others. How much fun it was to see his eyes sparkle as he gave Phyllis and Sal big hugs. He radiated (and still does) the light of Christ. God has richly blessed my life with the almost lifetime friendship with Vince, even though our paths have not crossed in recent years. Through school and sports Vince was always a fine teammate,schoolmate and guy to knock around with. Vince threw me his only T.D. pass and my only T.D. reception at Skyline. My life is forever imprinted by Vince Consul.

No matter how busy or rushed he was, Vince always had time to stop, say "hi", ask how you were doing and share his news about family. I worked with Vince at the U.S. Attorneys Office and watched him soar after. He is an example of a real "mensch", a good man with a great soul.

I can not say it any simpler than this. If you ever met and/or knew Vince and DID NOT LIKE HIM, THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.
Vince's bright smile and warmth were contagious. I always felt good in Vince's presence.
We would periodically talk about cases that he or I had worked on. He was always attentive.
I want to extend my condolences to his children and other family members. His premature and untimely death is so tragic.

I met your father in the 90's as I worked with him as his Westlaw rep and worked with him also in our mutual involvement with bar functions. I so enjoyed always seeing him at annual bar trips. Lauren and Mike, you were always at his side during those trips, and I so enjoyed seeing you as well throughout the years. Your father beamed when he was around you. I woulld like to extend my deepest sympathy to Vince's Family. He and I spent a great deal of time together while working first, with the District Attorney's Office and, later with the US Attorney's Office. Our friendship extended beyond our jobs and, although busy with our families and our practices, we managed to stay in touch. I have known Vince pretty much since I was born. He was my father's law partner for many years and I often saw him at other events that my family attended. Vince was always happy and smiling and the news of his passing came as a great shock to me. I will miss Vince very much.

Vince was the greatest. We went to law school together and both clerked at the U.S. Attorney's office in Las Vegas, where we tried a misdemeanor case and managed to lose it! Vince had a great sense of humor, and was a gentle sole. He will be sorely missed.

One of my best friends ever. I was so blessed to have Vince in my life , he helped shape me as a person and a father, I will miss our weekly lunches and dinners that we would have together. These were the times that Vince used to say that " I just wana loosen the tie and be a kid again". We love you and will miss you dearly.
