Leah Steece-Hartop, age 42, of San Diego, Calif., died on December 31, 2012. Born August 9, 1970, she graduated from Armada High School and went on to receive a Bachelors degree in Humanities from Oakland University with Honors. She relocated to San Diego in 1995 where she married her former husband, Eric Hartop. Leah was an office manager at Maaco for the past several years. Her favorite pastime was communicating on Facebook with her many friends from Mich. and all over the world. Her love for animals ignited her desire to be a loyal supporter for animal rights. Leah was a fierce advocate for many things and she used Facebook as her platform. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Steece; Uncle, Ron Steece and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her precious daughter Rachel Jane; mother and stepfather Al and Jane Lach; loving brother Kristopher (Darla, Kasey and Trinity) Steece, step-siblings Karyn (David) Clay, Scott (Jan) Lach, Debra (Josh) Rifenburgh; her beloved aunt/godmother Judith Gibson and many more aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and an uncle. Leah also leaves behind her friend and former husband Eric (Rebecca) Hartop and his family. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at St. John Catholic Church 872 Capac Road, Allenton, MI 48002.
