Marjorie June Bagley, age 89, of New Baltimore died February 28, 2012. Mrs. Bagley, a lifelong Michigan resident, was born in Detroit on January 8, 1923, to George and Sybil Egge. She graduated from Michigan State in 1945 with a bachelor's degree in education, and taught kindergarten, second grade and high school for more than 20 years in Anchor Bay schools. A longtime member of First Congregational Church, Mrs. Bagley enjoyed singing in the church choir, as well as in New Baltimore Interfaith Choir. Since 1950, she had been a member of New Baltimore Progressive Literary Club. She also was an avid painter and a lifetime member of New Baltimore Historical Society. But her first love was her family. Mrs. Bagley is survived by son Richard and daughter-in-law Peg Bagley of Marquette, Mich; daughter Beth Bagley-Stanton and son-in-law Tom Stanton of New Baltimore; grandchildren Nell (Kevin) Gardner of Edmonton, Alberta, Hanna Bagley of Marquette, Zack Stanton of New Baltimore, William Stanton of Brooklyn, NY, and Taylor Stanton of New York, NY; and one great-grandson, Henrik Gardner. Cremation will be handled by Gendernalik Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in coming weeks at First Congregational Church.
