Patricia Margaret (Young) McGowan

Patricia Margaret McGowan (Young) was born June 15, 1925 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Mayor of Windsor, Edward Cecil Young, DDS and Jeanette (Jessie) Young. She married the love of her life, Thomas Edward McGowan, February 5, 1949. She passed away June 5, 2013 in the arms of her children. Patricia's love for music colored her entire life. She worked as an x-ray technician at Providence Hospital in Detroit. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program in Detroit and Richmond, Mich. for 27 years while continuing to give to many other charities throughout her life. Patricia and Tom celebrated more than 60 years of marriage before he passed in 2009. Their bond was one that exuded love, strength, passion and laughter and will live on in our memories forever. Patricia is survived by her children, Kathleen (Frederick), Patricia, Thomas (Doris), Molly, Mary (Philip), and Nora (Alan); her grandchildren, Izabella, Kelly, Vanessa, Mathias, Errol and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary K. Boucher. Her brother, Robert C. Young, passed away in 1996. Her family had planned to come from NY, NJ, TX and FL to celebrate her 88th birthday on June 15th and will now honor her at a Mass on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 5 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church, 68035 S. Main Street, Richmond, MI 48062. Patricia was a loving mother, neighbor and friend whose generosity and concern for others was never ending. We will miss her very much. WE LOVE YOU MOM.
