Richard "Dick" R. Bannow, age 86, of Mount Clemens died on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. He was born June 4, 1925 in Mt. Clemens to the late John C. and Erna A. (nee Wolfslayer) Bannow. A pharmacist, he owned and operated Bannow Drug Co., Inc. of Mt. Clemens for over 38 years. He was a graduate of University of Michigan
and was a member of the Old Crowd, Kiwanis Club of Mount Clemens, First Presbyterian Church, and volunteered at the Salvation Army. Mr. Bannow served in the United States Army in the 35th infantry during WWII
, garnering several medals for his service. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Claren L. Bannow; children, Dr. R. Kevin Bannow (Carol), Sue Ellen Bannow, Sally Jo Bannow (Lee Powers); grandchildren, Alex Richard Bannow, and Skyler Valentine Powers; sisters-in-law, Judy Kraft Rowe, and Donna Kraft; and mother-in-law, Bertha Kraft. Funeral services Monday 11 a.m. (instate 10:30 a.m.) in First Presbyterian Church, 168 Cass, Mount Clemens. Visitation Sunday 2-7 p.m. in Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens.
