Ruthee Bright-Cowan

Bright-Cowan, Ruthee, age 97 and a 77 year resident of Harrison Township, passed away on June 2, 2014 with family at her side. As a former Ms. Senior Michigan and Ms. Senior Classic, Ruthee was an active part of her community and an entertainer for over 60 years with organizations like Kiwanis Club, Anton Art Center, HI-12, VFW Auxiliary, Historical Society all of Mount Clemens, as well as the Widows Club, Garden Club, String of Pearls, Senior MCC Performing Arts and many more. She was preceded by her parents Anton and Hannah Anderson of Mich. and Oslo, Norway; her sister, Ferne (Tony) Milosevich and husbands, Roland Bright and Harold Cowan of Harrison Township. Ruthee was part of five generations as the beloved mother of daughter, Yvonne (Bud) Messick; sons, Gary Bright and Loryn Bright and daughters, Paulette (Ed) Parrish and Pam (Sal) Iacona; and aunt to Marc and Wayne Milosevich. She was known as “Gram” to her 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Ruthee enjoyed spending time with friends and family and has provided MANY with her beautiful voice, her many talents, her humanitarian nature and most of all her laughter and beautiful spirit, who truly “had everything”. A Memorial will be held at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home at 233 N. Gratiot, Mount Clemens on Friday, June 13 from 2-7 p.m. with a service following. Share memories at:
